Invisalign

Invisalign

A removable brace which may be recommended for adult patients and some children who want a very limited amount of tooth alignment. The system consists of a series of aligners, which look like thin transparent mouthguards. Sophisticated computer software provides the designs for the aligners, based on how you want your teeth to look. Each aligner is worn for a period of 2 to 3 weeks and then replaced with a new aligner which is subtly different so that the teeth are gently massaged into their new position. You may require 20 to 30 aligners to produce the desired result.

Invisalign treatment is offered as an alternative to braces, mainly in the case of adults with completely formed teeth and jaws. Invisalign aligners are not noticeable, unlike conventional braces. They are more comfortable and can be removed for eating and brushing. They are not available as part of NHS treatment. For more information on Invisalign click here.
